Hey, I'm Jodie!
I've always had a love for photography. Long before I ever dreamed of photographing weddings, you'd usually find me chasing sunsets, capturing flowers, or finding beauty in old, hidden buildings. I've always loved the idea that a single photograph can tell a story and preserve a moment forever.
When I first started my photography business, weddings weren't my first job, but they were always the dream. I began by photographing families, children's portraits, and lifestyle sessions, which I absolutely loved. They taught me so much about capturing genuine emotion and natural moments. As my experience grew, I took the leap into weddings... and I've never looked back. It's everything I imagined and more. There's nothing quite like documenting one of the happiest days in someone's life.
When I'm not behind the camera, I'm actually a mechanical engineer by day. It's a completely different world, but I love the balance. Engineering satisfies my logical side, while photography allows me to be creative and connect with incredible people and tell their stories.
My wife and I have been together for seven years, and we celebrated our own wedding with a two-day celebration at the beautiful Gellifawr Woodland Retreat, because apparently one day of partying wasn't enough for her! It was honestly the most incredible experience, made even more special by the amazing suppliers who brought it all together. We then headed off to the Maldives for our honeymoon.
Family means everything to me, especially my two nieces, Livvie and Jorgie. They're hilarious, mischievous, and have completely wrapped me around their little fingers. Being their auntie is without a doubt one of my favourite jobs.
If you're a dog lover, we'll definitely get along. We have three Chihuahuas, Bentley, Minnie, and their son Rocky. Bentley is the dad, Minnie is the mum, and Rocky somehow ended up fluffy! Out of a litter of five, we promised ourselves we wouldn't keep any of them... but the moment we saw Rocky, we knew he wasn't going anywhere.
Then there's Flick, our beloved VW campervan and, let's be honest, the third wheel in our marriage! Whenever I'm not photographing weddings, you'll usually find my wife and me packing her up and heading off on another adventure. We've been lucky enough to explore France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, and plenty more beautiful places, with many more still on the bucket list.
Before photography became such a huge part of my life, football was everything. I started playing at just nine years old in a mixed team before moving into women's team at sixteen. Looking back, I'm incredibly proud of what I achieved. I played for Swansea City for 18 years, represented my country, won every major trophy in Welsh domestic women's football, and had the unforgettable experience of playing in the UEFA Women's Champions League on three occasions. Football taught me discipline, resilience, and the value of teamwork, qualities that have stayed with me throughout my life and my photography career.
For me, wedding photography is about so much more than taking beautiful photos. It's about capturing the moments that matter, the laughter, the happy tears, the hugs, the glances, and all those little in-between moments that you'll treasure for years to come.
If you're looking for someone who'll blend into your day, put you completely at ease, have a laugh with your guests, and capture your wedding exactly as it unfolds, I'd absolutely love to tell your story.
